German Socialist Gestapo attacked the community of Poor Clare nuns, in their Przasnysz convent, and arrested 35 consoeurs, including Sister Mieczysława "Marie Therese of the Infant Jesus" Kowalska.

Shipped to Soldau death camp, Sister Marie Therese of the Infant Jesus perished from starvation, exposure, tuberculosis and typhus, on July 25, 1942.

"Come, Lord Jesus! Come!" were the last words of the young woman who had heard and followed her calling, although she had been born into a family of atheists.
