Father Aleksander Sawicki was evicted by Soviet Socialists from the Monasterzyska parish in 1924, arrested in 1930, sentenced to 10 years of slave labor, locked up in a Yaroslav prison with a group of 30 Catholic priests, and finally shipped in 1934 to SLON, the Solovetsky Islands gulag, a former monastery, where he perished in 1937.
