Father Franciszek Bryja was arrested by German Socialist Gestapo who sent him to Auschwitz and then Dachau, where the young priest was sent to his death, via the Transport of the Invalids, to Hartheim Euthanasia Center, where he was gassed to death, on May 4, 1942.
"I have handed over my barely priestly life, my dreams and hopes, my whole heart and soul, I entrust to God and the Queen of Apostles today, and I offer this for the successful development of our holy Catholic faith in Poland and the development of the Polish province of Pallotine priests," he said in his farewell to fellow priests.
