10/9/2018 1 Comment October 09th, 2018During the September 1939 Campaign, when German Socialists invaded Poland, Polish intellectuals were targeted by the Selbstschutz, paramilitary police recruited from German-national minority residents in pre-war Poland.
Polish volksdeutsch leader Kurt Gehrt announced to a group of captives, in Rudzki Most, that if the person responsible for the destruction of Hugo Fritz's farm (actually caused by a drunken Fritz, whose neglected lit cigar caused the fire) all others would be released. In an attempt to save everyone else, Father Franciszek Nogalski stepped forward and accepted all blame, for which he was almost immediately executed, on October 24, 1939. VIVA CRISTO REY! Niech żyje Chrystus Król!
