Cleric Franciszek Munko fled the religious house of the Congregation of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate in Krobi, running from the German Socialists invading Poland. However, the Wehrmacht detained him with other religious and clergy, in the forest near Michałów. Forced to dig their own mass grave, all were executed, on September 12, 1939
