Father Henryk Antoni Szuman was forced out of his parish, in Kościerzyna, immediately after the German Socialists invaded Poland, on September 1, 1939.
One month later, as he prayed, kneeling in Fordon's Saint Nicholas Church, the Gestapo entered, dragged him out and executed him at the church's main gate, on October 2, 1939.
"Long live Christ the King! Long live Poland!” were his last words.
VIVA CRISTO REY! Niech żyje Chrystus Król!
