September 13, 1946, in Krakow's Montelupich Prison, was the execution of Nazi criminal Amon Goeth (Göth), commandant of the labor camp in Płaszów, assigned to the SS-Totenkopfverbände (Death's Head Unit, concentration camp service.) Only the third attempt at execution ended with Goeh's death, his last words before his death were "Heil, Hitler!"
