On the second day of the Warsaw Uprising, August 2, 1944, German Socialist Gestapo swarmed the Jesuit monastery, on Rakowiecka Street, and executed 44, including Father Józef Fus, with grenades and machine-gun bullets and then doused with gasoline and set on fire.
