Father Michał Niechaj and other professors and priests from the Catholic University of Lublin and the seminary in Lublin were rounded up by German Socialist Gestapo during the Intelligenzaktion, the action to exterminate Catholic intellectuals. Father Niechaj was shot in an old Jewish cemetery but is believed to have been buried alive, December 23, 1939.

After Soviet soldiers burst into the convent of the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Catherine the Virgin and Martyr, the Reds fatally shot Sister Gebhard (born Maria Schrötter) in the heart as she kneeled to helped another Sister who had just been shot, February 2, 1945.

Father Marceli Nowakowski was arrested by Gestapo for the anti-German leaflets scattered in the Church of the Holy Savior and for helping the wife of Polish General Vladislaus Sikorski escape German Socialist-occupied Poland. Sentenced to death, he was shot, on January 22, 1940, during a mass execution, in Palmiry, of Warsaw Catholic intellectuals.

While tending to the sick in Saint Joseph Hospital in Dobre Miasto, which was overtaken by the Socialist Soviets, Sister Xaveria (born Maria Rohwedder) was captured, tossed onto a cattle train, beaten and punched so badly by a Red soldier, that she perished on the journey, and her body was thrown from the train, November 25, 1945.

During a round-up by German Socialist Gestapo on a train from Warsaw, Father Jan Nagórzański was arrested for possessing underground political newspapers. Tortured several times, he revealed nothing, but was transported to the Chojnowskie forest, a site of mass murders, where he was executed, February 12, 1943.

Sister Bona (born Anna Pestka) was beaten and stabbed while trying to protect her honor against the Socialist Soviet soldiers who raped and pillaged their way to the hospital where she ministered. Never able to recover, she perished weeks later, on May 1, 1945

Arrested by German Socialists, Father Stanisław Malinowski was advised to remove his cassock, to save himself. He refused. The Gestapo beat him until he lost consciousness and fell into the snow, where the Socialists continued to beat him until he perished, in December 1940.
