9/23/2019 0 Comments September 23rd, 2019Appointed chaplain to the Polilsh Army, Father Czesław Józef Lissowski was apprehended by the German Socialist Wehrmacht and interned in a Prisoner of War camp. In violation of the Hague Convention, he was shipped to Buchenwald and then Dachau, where he perished, on November 15, 1942.

"I, as a human being, a Christian, a priest, and a German, demand of you, Chief Physician of the Reich [Minister of Public Health Leonardo Conti], that you answer for the crimes that have been perpetrated at your bidding, and with your consent, and which will call forth the vengeance of the Lord on the heads of the German people," he wrote. Imprisoned, Father Lichtenberg was classified as person "unable to change and correct.” Shipped to Dachau, he perished along the way, November 5,1943. VIVA CRISTO REY! After a night trial, he was sentenced to death and executed in Lviv Prison, June 25, 1941.
