German Socialist Gestapo arrested Franciszek Kęsy for his Catholic affiliations. After two years of torture and interrogations, he received a death sentence.
"Oh, what a joy for me that I am leaving this world...Good God takes me to himself," he wrote in a final letter to his parents and siblings.
Franciszek was beheaded, via guillotine, in a Dresden prison, on August 24, 1942.
