For issuing baptism certificates and helping Jews in the ghetto, deemed crimes by the German Socialists, Father Tadeusz Kaczmarczyk was arrested by Gestapo, along with two other priests. On August 21, 1941, all three were executed, along with 41 others in Biegonice, Nowy Sącz.
"Long live Poland!" was the shout of the dying Father Kaczmarczyk.
