8/29/2018 0 Comments August 29th, 2018In retaliation for the death of German Socialist soldier, their comrades selected 10 Poles to execute, including Stanislaw Biernacka and his wife, Anna, who was 8 months pregnant and the mother of 2-year-old Genia.
Marianna Biernacka, the mother of Stanislaw, pleaded with the soldiers to take her life instead of the life of Anna. The soldiers agreed. As she held her rosary, Marianna was executed by gunfire by the German Socialists, on July 13, 1943, in Naumowicze, Belarus. To this day, her descendants still live in the diocese of Lomza.
