German Socialist Gestapo arrested Sister Romualda, born Franciszka Grzanka, with the Congregation of the Sisters Servants of the Blessed Virgin Mary Immaculate Conception.
Shipped to the Nonnenlager-Schmückert concentration camp (mainly for nuns and senior priests), she fell ill with tuberculosis.
Offered her freedom, only on the condition that she sign a statement that she would leave the monastic state, she refused and perished, on May 26, 1941.
