Accused of espionage and of counterrevolutionary, anti–Soviet activities because he was an Eastern Orthodox priest, Father Ivan Aleksandrovich Blumovich was sentenced to death by Socialist Soviet genocidal kangaroo court known as Troika NKVD and subsequently executed, on April 13, 1938.
