WITOLD PILECKI: A VOLUNTEER FOR AUSCHWITZ
Today January 27, 2020, is the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz death camp.
When the German Socialists invaded Poland, on September 1, 1939, Poland was 90% Catholic, and the invaded country gave the world countless Catholic heroes who faced terrifying evils.
One hero was Captain Witold Pilecki, one of the founders of the Secret Polish Army, who volunteered to be rounded up and arrested to gather intelligence inside Auschwitz.
