What was the NAZI Intelligenzaktion?
A series of mass murders committed against the ethnic Polish Catholic intelligentsia (teachers, priests, physicians, civic officials and the upper classes).
Photo: In occupied Poland, on September 9, 1939, German Socialists (who invaded Poland on September 1, 1939) publicly executed 25 prominent ethnic Polish Catholics before the Municipal Museum, in the Market Square of Bydgoszcz, as part of the mass shootings of Polish intelligentsia. Then to terrorise the townsfolk, the Germans displayed the bodies for six hours.
