7/10/2018 0 Comments July 10th, 2018German Socialist Gestapo arrested Father Piotr Edward Dankowski and shipped him to Auschwitz, where he received Number 24529.
On Palm Sunday, Hans, a camp kapo, told Father Dankowski to expect the Way of the Cross for the upcoming Holy Week, when he was forced to carry a heavy beam at all times. On Good Friday, barely alive, Father Dankowski arrived at morning roll call with the beam upon his shoulders. Later, at the work site, the kapo accused him of evading work. The kapo and other Germans began to torture the priest, kicking and punching him and crowning him with a crown of barbed wire. Unable to walk, Father Dankowski, with the beam on his shoulders, was carried back to the barracks, where he died, with the beam still on his shoulders, on April, 3, 1942. VIVA CRISTO REY!
