What makes Western civilization stand out amongst others?
Its philosophical history, beginning with the Greeks, in particular, Aristotle, whose Aristoteliansim shaped Christian teaching and from whom Saint Thomas Aquinas adopted the concept of metaphysics as the Science of Being.
Aristotle has been incredibly important in Christendom.
Although Christianity is not mentioned in this article, readers may find interesting the Christian references of moderation, responsibility and "finding a purpose in order to realize your potential and working on your behavior to become the best version of yourself" (which is, for a Christian, following God's will).
