German Socialist Gestapo arrested Father Józef Kut, who, on the way to Poznań Prison, blessed the Catholic peasants working in the fields.
Shipped to Dachau extermination camp, Father Kut's family worked for his freedom. The German Socialists agreed, on two conditions: that he renounce his priesthood and that he sign the German national list.
Father Kut refused. Exhausted and starved, he perished on September 18, 1942.
