German Socialist secret State police, the Gestapo, arrested Father Kazimierz Grelewski, on January 24, 1941, with 330 other Catholic Polish intellectuals, including teachers, lawyers and doctors.
Father Kazimierz was shipped to Auschwitz, and then Dachau, where a kapo beat him. When the priest stood, he made the sign of the cross and said, "God forgive you." The kapo beat him down again and shouted, "I will send you to your God in a moment!"
Father Grelewsk was executed on January 9, 1942.
