Interned after the start of World War II, Catholic Bishop Konstantyn Dominik was ordered by the German Socialist Gestapo to sign the Deutsche Volksliste, basically agreeing to be German. Even though interrogated many times and given the ultimatum that he either sign or else, he refused and died, on March 7, 1942, in captivity, never signing the Deutsche Volksliste.
