Capuchin monk Father Jerome "Fidelis" Chojnacki was arrested on January 25, 1940, only months after the German Socialists invaded Poland on September 1, 1939.
Shipped to Sachsenhausen concentration camp and then to Dachau extermination camp, where he received Number 22473, Father Chojnacki perished from starvation and exhaustion on July 9, 1942.
