Father Ignacy Opolski was arrested, with other Catholic priests, by Soviets. A political target because of religion, hated by the Socialist atheists, he was unjustly tried, incarcerated and eventually executed, December 8, 1937, in Alexander Swirsky monastery, where the Soviets had murdered hundreds of Catholic priests.
