10/3/2019 0 Comments October 03rd, 2019Perhaps the greatest Polish war hero of World War II -- Captain Witold Pilecki -- was a Roman Catholic.
Husband, father and co-founder of the Secret Polish Army, he offered to go to Auschwitz to gather intelligence about the German Socialist death camp. He survived, barely, and actually escaped only to be arrested by the Ministry of Public Security of Poland (Ministerstwo Bezpieczeństwa Publicznego). Tortured by Soviets known for their savagery, he divulged no information, to protect fellow prisoners. On trial for trumped-up charges, he was sentenced to death and executed in the back of the head in Warsaw's Mokotów Prison,on May 25, 1948. VIVA CRISTO REY! Niech żyje Chrystus Król!
