After the German Socialists invaded Poland and created the Jewish ghetto in Słonim, Father Adam Sztark gave false birth certificates, baptism certificates and food to persecuted Jews.
Because of his selfless, Christian actions, he was accused of resistance of the German Socialists, arrested in the night, of December 18, and executed the next morning, December 19, 1942.
Father Sztark was executed beside Sister Bogumiła "Maria Ewa of Opatrzność" Noiszewska (a medical doctor) and Mother Superior Kazimiera "Maria Marta od Jezusa" Wołowska, who had hidden and given shelter to Jewish children, in the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary convent, in Słonim.
