9/11/2020 0 Comments September 11th, 2020One of the 4,000 priests -- who were martyred in or exiled by the pro-Communist government in Mexico during the anti-Catholic persecution of the Church in the 1920s and 1930s -- was the priest Father Francesco Vera. He was shot by a firing squad, just as Father Miguel Pro was, immediately after offering the outlawed holy sacrifice of the Mass.
VIVA CRISTO REY! NOTE: Where there were 4,500 priests serving the people before the rebellion, in 1934 there were only 334 priests licensed by the government to serve fifteen million people, the rest having been eliminated by emigration, expulsion and assassination. --from wikipedia 12/5/2017
