On the slope of Rozafat Castle, Bishop Gjergj Volaj celebrated a Mass on a feast day of Our Lady, in Shkodra, Albania.
In his sermon, his last sermon, he spoke of the Catholic Church and the difficult times She faced and called for the faithful to trust in God. Not long after, he was arrested by the revolutionary Communists with their atheistic Socialist ideology of death and destruction. Accused of counterrevolutionary activities, he was cruelly tortured, ordered to be exterminated and was shot to death, on February 3, 1947. VIVA CRISTO REY! RROFTE KRISHTI MBRET!
