12/17/2019 0 Comments December 17th, 2019   Arrested by German Socialist Gestapo, Father Leon Poeplau refused to sign the Deutsche Volksliste, the German national classification application. Shipped to Auschwitz, when he refused to repeat the words of a blasphemous song, he was beaten with batons and kicked with hobnailed boots until he died, on August 28, 1940.

Beaten, he was transported to Barbarka Forest, where he was executed in a mass murder of about 130 ethnic Poles, on October 28, 1939.
